2007 in Review

Fairfield WIC Mission Statement: To provide training and resources to equip women to live Christ-like in a sinful world and to mobilize them to serve the Lord through His Church.

The Fairfield WIC has always expressed a deep commitment to discipling the women of Fairfield Church and adding a women's touch to the deaconal ministry of the church. Beginning in July, the WIC Counsel met to plan for the 2007 - 2008 church calendar. With Heidi Sherman and Heather Weber joining the leadership team, a full year of ministry and fellowship was set. In October, Heidi and Susie attended a northeast regional WIC leadership conference at Providence PCA in Philadelphia.

With a concern that the older women should disciple the younger, Donna McLean and Susie Schuelke led a series in Sunday school on "Spiritual Mothering." This class was well received among the women, with relationships among the participants growing as commitments to Christ deepened.

Fairfield women pursued several ministries of mercy this past year including: care packages to Fairfield college students, care packages to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, the April Showers collection for a local women's resource center, baby showers for expectant mothers, baskets of encouragement for Fairfield members needing prayer, and a caring touch and a special gathering and collection for a young woman, Shay, who is currently battling cancer.

"Knitting with Blanche" was a popular fellowship activity as Blanche Hitchner helped the ladies hone their skills with the knitting needles. To this opportunity, WIC leaders added a luncheon at the new manse with the year end culminating with the annual favorite, the Ladies Candlelight Tea.

In all, the women of Fairfield Church enhance the church's ministry with the gracious touch of Godly women in a profound and beautiful manner. Enjoy the photos of their work unto the Lord in 2007...
