Challengers Have First Lock-In!

The 7th & 8th grade Pioneer Club group had it's first lock in over the Thanksgiving weekend. Pam Halter is the leader of the group, assisted by Ken Pugh. We started the weekend on Friday night with a pizza dinner and went on to batik and tye dye some t-shirts. Mrs. Halter taught a lesson about the broken world we live in and how God sent Jesus to heal his people. We watched a movie and ate snacks and finally went to bed around midnight.

Saturday morning shone bright, and after a French toast breakfast, the group and Mr. Pugh went with Pastor Mike to pick out the Christmas tree for the church. Then we gathered in the fellowship hall to prepare and serve an Appreciation Luncheon for our elders.

We had great fun being together and serving our elders. We are looking forward to encouraging our shut-ins in December with soup, cookies and caroling.

A long night ahead for Mrs. Halter and Mr. Pugh too.

The perfect tree. . .for this year.

Brian and Steve, Greenleaves workers cut it down while Little Brian watches.

Cut, shaken, on the truck and on the way home to Fairfield Church.

With thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Munson and GreenLeaves Tree Farm. They offer trees to local churches for free. When customers purchase a tree, the Munsons send a tenth of the price of the customer’s tree to the church of the customer's choice.
